Yes - there IS something worth watching on TV!

If you happen to be in an area served by UNC-TV (Direct Channel 33; Dish Channel 8190), that is. Debra Holt-Noel and her UNC-TV "North Carolina Weekend" crew came to Stecoah (Robbinsville) on June 26 to film the opening night of An Appalachian Evening Summer Concert Series. The segment will air this Thursday at 9:00 pm and again Friday at 8:30 pm. If you aren't in the area, consider two things: (1) why NOT??? isn't it time to head for the hills for a mountain getaway? (2) UNC-TV provides podcasts of local videos, so if this airing makes the July Archives, you can watch it online soon.

The Appalachian Evening Summer Concert Series has been selected by The Southeast Tourism Society as one of its "Top 20 Events" in the region. It is also a part of the 2010 75th Anniversary Celebration for the Blue Ridge Parkway.
