Slow Food presents Local Food Traditions with Apples

Nov 14, 5PM, 109 Bell Rd., Asheville NC. Local farmer/artist/old-timey cook Susie Hamilton will share tales of growing up on historic Hickory Nut Gap Farm. She'll fashion the farm's apples into pies and bake them off in an antique wood cookstove and in the fireplace. Bill Whipple will talk about growing your own heritage apples and why it is important to bring heritage fruits back into circulation.
