Coffee with the Poet, 3rd Thursday Series in Sylva

February 17th at 10:30 AM City Lights Bookstore presents Coffee with the Poet Featuring Barbara Duncan. Crossing Cowee Mountain is a limited-edition printing of award-winning non-fiction-author Barbara Duncan's first book of poetry. Specific to the western North Carolina mountains and its landscape and mountain culture, it is a beautiful first collection.

Barbara Duncan works as the Education Director at the Museum of Cherokee Indians and has a PhD in folklore and folklife. She received the Brown-Hudson award from the North Carolina Society for Contribution to the Study of Folklife in North Carolina. Her previous books she include: Living Stories of the Cherokee, Cherokee Heritage Trails Guidebook and The Origin of the Milky Way.
