Neither Rain nor Sleet nor Snow Shall Stop the Fishing!

February Fishing Report from Curtis Wright Outfitters, authored by David Grossman. There is still great winter fishing to be had if you are flexible and determined enough to find it. The most important tool in a fisherman's toolbox this winter is the USGS Water Watch website  that provides the current river levels and flows for all of North Carolina. By seeing an overall picture of the water levels in our area you can really target those rivers where the conditions will be the best the day that you go to fish.

Another important thing to remember this February is that holding water for trout changes when the water rises, and they will most often be pushed out into whatever calm water they can find by the banks. For the fly fisherman this means throw a couple of casts to the water by the bank before you start wading in it. You
