May 27 -28 in downtown Burnsville NC the Memorial Day Weekend celebration Hero Day includes a free concert on Friday night on the town square called "Rockin' the Village Green" in conjunction with a "Cruisin' the way it used to be" event throughout the town. Saturday morning the "Ride for a Vet" (rideforavet.com) registration will begin on the town square at 8 am.
The concert and ride will benefit the United States Marine Corps League Mt. Mitchell Detachment 1266. The event offers food, fun, fellowship and entertainment on the town square.
