May 9 9:30am-12:30pm. Join FCNC's Andrew Kota on a late spring hike on Harper Creek. This will be a moderate 3.5 mile hike and will explore the beauty of the National Wild and Scenic Wilson Creek. Meet at the Wilson Creek Visitor's Center at 9:30am.
The outstanding natural characteristics and renowned water quality of Wilson Creek and the surrounding landscape helped earn the 23.3 mile, cold-water creek its National Wild and Scenic River designation in 2000. Wilson Creek is also classified as an "Outstanding Resource Water" by the NC Division of Water Quality.
A connected network of over 1,000 acres that link Pisgah National Forest to the banks of Wilson Creek have been protected to preserve the qualities that make Wilson Creek a unique resource and place of recreation.
