TREE WALK in Sylva
TREE WALK. The 1.2-mile Sylva Tree Walk is home to 44 of the more than 50 species in Sylva, designated Tree City USA. Col. Theodore Fuller, local author and artist, created the tree walk in 1981. The Sylva Garden Club currently maintains the walk, which features a guide book, map and small signs at the base of each tree indicating its common name. The walk officially begins in the shade of Bicentennial Park near the old courthouse, but folks are welcome to pick a parking place and start at any point along the trail. Jackson County Visitors Center on West Main Street, or call (800) 962-1911.
