May 30 Near Asheville. Join the Exploring Joara Foundation and archaeologists Dr. David Moore (Warren Wilson College) and Dr. Tony Boudreaux (East Carolina University) on a tour of Town Creek Indian Mound and learn about the mound building Indians of the central Piedmont of North Carolina. While at Town Creek, participants will hear a lecture from Dr. Boudreaux, and tour the museum and the reconstructed site including the palisades, mound and temple, and mortuary buildings with Drs. Boudreaux and Moore.
The cost of the tour is $60 per person or $45 for members of the Exploring Joara Foundation. Participants can catch the bus at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa or in Morganton. Seats are limited.
