Nov 9, 7PM at the Jackson County Public Library the holiday celebration of Catch the Spirit of Appalachia’s writing program will open with stories, poetry and song in a fast-paced production, showcasing the creative talents of Rev. Jack Hinson, Waynesville; Rev. Victoria Casey McDonald, Sylva; David Watkins, Cullowhee; Matthew Baker, Franklin, Rev. John Reed, Sylva; Betty Brown, Tuckasegee; Mary McGlauflin, Maggie Valley; Janie McKinley, Hendersonville; Judy Rhodes, Arden; Edwina Crowe Jones, Cherokee/Lexington; Roger Chapman, Lincoln Cty; Linda Owen Vinson, Honea Path, SC; and others. The readings will be full of humor, emotion, and slices of life. At 7:45pm will be the book signing and a reception with refreshments.
Catch the Spirit of Appalachia, a nonprofit heritage and art organization, has published a record 11 books in 2010 and assisted in publishing a total of 48 books since 1996. The Jackson County Main Library is located on Main Street, beside the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, in downtown Sylva NC.
