Andrew Prine Comes to Dinner in Burnsville

August 13 - 23 at the Parkway Playhouse in Burnsville NC Andrew Prine stars in "The Man Who Came To Dinner". Andrew Prine is a familiar face to Playhouse after his notable turns in Our Town in 2006 and Look Homeward, Angel in 2007.
He started his career in Burnsville as a University of Miami student in the 1950's and working at the Parkway Playhouse. He left Burnsville for New York where he landed the leading role of Eugene in the original Broadway production of Look Homeward, Angel. Since then there has been no stopping Prine, and his career has spanned over a half-century.

The Man Who Came to Dinner takes place in suburban Ohio in the late 1930's. Sheridan Whiteside (Prine), a noted radio personality, is in town on one of his annual lecture circuit tours when he slips and breaks his hip on some renegade ice. Confined to a wheelchair, Whiteside- who is the forerunner of great comedic curmudgeons like Archie Bunker and George Jefferson- takes over the home of his host family, forcing them to hide upstairs. http://www.parkwayplayhouse.com
