Friends of North Carolina's Mountains to Sea Trail have announced the first place winner in the "People on the Trail" category for their 2011 Trail photography contest. Stephen Schoof of Garren Creek Photography in Asheville NC submitted the winning photo, the Sunset Crowd at Jockey's Ridge.
There were nearly 200 entries painting a beautiful panorama of the sights along the 1000-mile trail. For a look at all entries go to www.ncmst.org.
