Descendant of Pocahontas presents "wild edibles and traditional medicinals" lecture

November 13, 2 PM - 4 PM at the NC Cooperative Extension Office, 130 Ammons Dr., Morganton NC.  Armchair Hike on the Wild Side with Pocahontas descendant IIa Hatter offers information about wild edibles and traditional medicinals! "There's "food underfoot" if we recognize what our Mothers and Grandmothers gathered to feed their families in hard times. They knew what to gather in season for medicines they would need if illness struck. Many a meal was flavored with wild herbs and spices."

IIa Hatter is an interpretive naturalist, artist, wildcrafter, and gourmet cook with more than 25 years experience teaching the cultural heritage of native plants. The presentation will include
something "wild and scrumptious" for all to sample.

The presentation is hosted by The Foothills Conservancy in cooperation with The NC Cooperative Extension. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door with limited seating. Purchase tickets online HERE.
