North Carolina now even more "Welcoming"

News: Green Welcome Center Opens
This month the state of North Carolina opened it's first environmentally friendly rest and welcome center. The new facility, The Northwest North Carolina Visitor's Center, is located off 441 in Wilkesboro NC. The $3.3 million, 10,000-square-foot building features solar panels, geothermal wells for heating and cooling, and a rain-water collection system and is predicted to be about 40 percent more efficient than a traditional rest area.
