September 22-23 Farm Tour 2012 The Family Fun Farm Tours continue with 35 participating farms this year. Activities and experiences vary from farm to farm, so check the website for specifics.
Tours including everything from farm-grown wines to micro-farming and hydroponic techniques, to organic gardening. See Angora goats, cows, baby calves, pigs, baby chicks, and learn about grassfed beef and other meats. Visit a hops and Berry farm and explore a butterfly flight house. See a trout farm or pick-your-own at an apple orchard.
August 4-5 High Country Farm Tour Tour local, sustainable farms and discover the delicious meat, dairy, fruits, fish, and veggies produced in the High Country. The tour is self-guided and farms are located throughout Watauga, Ashe, and Caldwell counties. Get a map and tour the farms in any order.
