October 12 Annual Todd New River Festival This FREE festival features multiple music performances, storytelling, bluegrass jams, puppet shows, athletic competitions and other recreational events for all to enjoy. More than 30 vendors offer a variety of arts and crafts.
Enjoy plenty of NC barbecue and great food. Admission is free. Parking and a shuttle ride to the festival are available for $5 at the field just off Railroad Grade Road from the Highway 194 entrance to Todd NC.

RiverFest this Weekend in Asheville
A variety of local food trucks will offer vegetarian and meat-loving options. This year food truck food court includes Gypsy Queen, The Lowdown, Melt Your Heart, Pho Ya Belly, as well as Ursa Minor Coffee and the Hop Ice Cream. There will be beer from five sponsors this year: Highland Brewing Co. , New Belgium, Asheville Brewing Co., Pisgah and Sierra Nevada.
A highlight of the Festival is the Anything that Floats Parade. Groups and organizations build watercraft of all kinds for an opportunity to show off their creativity and their cause and have lots of fun doing it. Participants can construct their vessels out of anything they can find that floats and parade them by the festival grounds. The only rules are that they must float and must be powered by wind, solar or our own herculean strength - no motors allowed - and be removed from the festival grounds upon completion of the race. If you don't have time to build a "Yacht" to be on the river that day, rent a tube and enjoy the festivities from the water.The event is managed and hosted by RiverLink, a regional non-profit spearheading the economic and environmental revitalization of the French Broad River and its tributaries as a place to work, live and play.

Fall Art and Crafts Festival and Events this weekend in the NC Mountains

Event: Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands This 65th annual event includes over 200 exhibitors, craft demonstrations, and live regional music and entertainment. Both levels of the Civic Center are filled with artisans selling their works of clay, fiber, glass, leather, metal, mixed media, natural materials, paper, wood and jewelry. The Fair showcases the work of members of the Southern Highland Craft Guild and includes craft demonstrations and, beginning on Friday, local musicians performing traditional and bluegrass mountain music live on the arena stage.

Event: Lake Eden Arts Festival (LEAF) Camp Rockmont hosts a weekend of art, music, and outdoor fun.
