"...another milestone for director Clint Eastwood." -Film Journal International.  "This is Hanks' show, and he delivers a typically strong performance, quickly allowing us to forget that we're watching an actor." --VARIETY.   "It's an effectively thrilling story of quietly unassuming, can-do American heroism-the kind, sadly, we don't get to witness much these days." --ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.

PG-13, Biography, Drama, 96 Minutes.  Director: Clint Eastwood,  Stars: Tom Hanks, Laura Linney, Aaron Eckhart, Anna Gunn, Ann Cusack.  Synopsis: Tom Hanks stars in this thrilling portrait of heroic airline pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, re-enacting his incredible successful emergency landing of an Airbus A320 full of passengers on the Hudson River.

Magnolia Concert Series:  The Carburetors will close the 2016 Magnolia Concert Series with a special show at 7:00 PM (instead of our normal 3:00 show time) on Sunday, September 18th. "For being such a blue-collar symbol, 'carburetor' is an awfully complicated word to spell. Now, the band interestingly enough, is sort of the same. Its members would have you believe it's all PBR and alt-country, but, The Carburetors make noise with skill, humor and, I dare say, a little class. These guys play American driving-down-the-road music, good like bluegrass, poorly behaved like rockabilly." -- Brandon Reynolds, Style Weekly.

Saluda Summer Concert Series Holds Encore Performance

October 9, 2015  Top of The Grade Concert Encore Performance   The summer concerts, organized by the Saluda Downtown Foundation promotions team, were a huge success resulting in this encore performance.  The Super '60s, a band from Hendersonville that was wildly popular at the Apple Festival will play, so put on your dancing shoes and come join in the fun.

Donations will be appreciated at this concert, and all proceeds will go towards more lighting in McCreery Park. The performance will be held on the Ella Grace Mintz Stage from 6 - 8 PM in McCreery Park. In case of rain, the concert will move to the Pavilion. Bring your chairs or blankets, food and coolers.

Saluda NC has been a popular getaway destination and gateway to the NC mountains since 1879 when the first passenger rode the up the Saluda Grade on the newly completed railroad line.

If you need an escape from the heat or a respite from the hectic pace of life, Saluda NC is the answer. Loaded with tranquil, scenic beauty and fresh mountain air Saluda is one of Western North Carolina's hidden jewels.

Any visit to Saluda should include a stop by Random Arts for art supplies or artful women's wear, a browse through Heartwood Gallery for local and other American made art and crafts, a hike to Pearson's Falls to enjoy a pristine forest and natural water feature, and dinner (maybe with live music) at The Purple Onion. The historic downtown Main Street meanders along the old Saluda Grade railroad tracks and offers a variety of specialty shops. And don't forget to stop by WildFlour Bakery - probably THE best bakery on the planet - and stock up on their wonderful breads.
