Live Music Tonight at Asheville's Grove Arcade

March 22   Live Music at The Grove Arcade   The Emory Haynes Band will be performing a free concert from 6 to 8 PM. Band members include Joe Laughter on guitar and vocals, Buzzy Cannady on guitar, Tim Emory on guitar and vocals, Robby Moore on drums and Wes Farmer on bass. The playlist includes classic rock, easy listening and blues. Visitors might hear songs such as Dock of the Bay, House of the Rising Sun, Stormy Monday, Spooky, Last dance with Mary Jane and more. 

Stop by one of the Arcade's restaurants and wine bars  to begin or cap off an evening spent downtown.  Support local businesses and celebrate the change of season's this weekend.

Built by E.W. Grove, the visionary and creator of the Grove Park Inn, the Grove Arcade opened in 1929 and thrived until World War II as one of the country’s leading public markets. The historically renovated Grove Arcade reopened to the public in 2002 as a destination featuring locally-owned shops, galleries, restaurants and businesses.  A lively and beloved downtown landmark, the Arcade is open daily.

The Grove Arcade Hosts ASAP's CSA Fair

March 29 form 3 PM to 6 PM - Find Your Farmer at ASAP’s CSA Fair at the Grove Arcade. CSA subscribers receive a weekly box of fresh, locally-grown, great-tasting produce or meats throughout the growing season. ASAP’s CSA Fair is an opportunity for community members to meet farmers face-to-face and learn more about their CSA programs and products. This is a free event and open to the public.

The first CSA Fair was held in 2011 with 18 farm exhibitors and drew 400-500 visitors
. The CSA Fair is sponsored by USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program and the Grove Arcade. Attendees can sign up to learn more from farmers, or bring your checkbook if you are ready to subscribe. Groups from workplaces and congregations are encouraged to attend, as many farms will deliver directly to groups if numbers allow.

All participating CSA providers have pick up locations in Asheville. Those slated to participate are:

Asheville's Grove Arcade offers new Live Music Series

January 20, 5 Pm - 8 PM at The Grove Arcade, 1 Page Avenue in downtown Asheville NC - Live at the Arcade begins this Friday with The funk ensemble Motownblue.  Live at the Grove Arcade, a new series featuring free local music, will take place the third Friday of January, February and March. Motownblue will perform this Friday.

William Stafford, the Grove Arcade’s “Singing Security Guard,” will belt out Motown hits and blues classics. His performing career was restarted with an April 2009 performance at the Arcade, Stafford’s first public performance in decades. Shoppers and merchants at the Grove Arcade know Stafford as one of the security guards at the historic downtown building, but when he takes the stage they see a completely different side. Motownblue performs tunes by hit-makers such as Stevie Wonder, BB King, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye and more.


The Grove Arcade Merchants Association sponsors the Live at the Grove Arcade evenings
of music, food and drinks. Beer and wine are available for purchase and attendees get free popcorn with each drink purchase.

Grove Arcade offers Gingerbread and Holiday Decor

Nov 20-22, The Grove Arcade, One Page Avenue. Asheville NC. The Grove Arcade kicks off the holiday celebrations this weekend with activities, gingerbread houses and stunning holiday decor. As a part of the National Gingerbread House Competition 35 of the whimsical entries will be displayed in a winter-wonderland style setting. The public is invited to view the houses Monday through Saturday from 10AM-6PM. and Sunday from noon - 5PM.

This weekend's schedule includes:
Friday: Raeph – Acoustic Guitar & Vocals; 11AM-1PM., James Rogers – Piano; 1AM-3PM
Saturday: Gardner Hathway – Guitar & Vocals; 11AM-PM, Jon Cooley – Cardboard Dulcimer 1AM- 3PM, James Rogers - Piano; AM- 4PM., Marcus Chatfield & Duke – Harmonica, Guitar & Vocals; 4PM- 6PM
Sunday: James Rogers - Piano; noon-2PM., Raeph – Acoustic Guitar & Vocals; 2PM-4PM
