Brushy Mountain was established in 2005 by Ann and Matthew Mayberry in
the Harris Building in historic downtown Elkin. Many of their wines
have been named after local legends, including civil war and
revolutionary war legends. The labels of the fruit wines were designed
from the labels of the cans from the Elkin Canning Company. Brushy
Mountain Winery was purchased by Brushy’s long-time winemaker Jason
Wiseman in 2013. Jason has roots in western North Carolina, and is now
happy to call the Yadkin Valley home.
