Due to state budget cuts your gifts to the Annual Summer Fund Challenge are even more important this year for conservation work in your backyard.

2011-2012 NC State Budget cuts are as follows:

Clean Water Management Trust Fund
REDUCED to $11.25 million (from $50 million this year)
Parks and Recreation Trust Fund REDUCED by $8.45 million
Natural Heritage Trust Fund
REDUCED by $8 million
Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund
REDUCED by 15 percent to $1.7 million

Even though these important trust funds were cut, we want to thank everyone who made calls on behalf of conservation in North Carolina.
