Tsali Trails News

Tsali Trails Undergoing Renovation
Tsali is the fortunate beneficiary of federal stimulus money for trail renovation this fall and winter. Work is already underway and will address the 27 miles of single-track trail. The two main initiatives are to install positive drainage in those swampy spots that continually bog down and to clear brush; 10' high and 4' wide. The renovations will not alter trail surface or width (except in drainage repair areas) but the trails will likely appear wider due to brush clearing. During the renovations, which are slated through December, there will be signage informing trail users which trails are open/closed and trails will always be open on weekends. For more information, contact the District Ranger Office at 828-479-6431.

Tsali Use Fee: Don't forget, there is a use fee for the Tsali trails, $2 per person per day. There is also an annual pass for $15 that you can purchase at the Cheoah Ranger District Office or at Bryson City Bicycles. 85% of the money collected goes directly into maintaining the Tsali trails.
