July 19 - 20 Spruce Pine BBQ Championship and Bluegrass Festival This event features a sanctioned professional barbecue competition, a wings contest, public tastings, live bluegrass music, a cornhole tournament, championship clogging teams, craft vendors, BBQ equipment and supplies vendors, local food vendors, the Spruce Pine Skedaddle 5K and Fun Run, a kids play-area.
The Spruce Pine BBQ Championship and Bluegrass Festival is hosted by Spruce Pine Main Street and the Rotary Club of Spruce Pine, and is sanctioned by the Southern BBQ Network. Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs for the live music performances.
DARIN & BROOKE ALDRIDGE will be the headline act on Friday evening, and BALSAM RANGE, Winner of the IBMA Song of the Year in 2011 for “Trains I Missed", will be back by popular demand to perform Saturday evening on the Festival Stage.
