Stories of Mountain Folk for 9/8/12

September 8 - Stories of Mountain Folk is a weekly podcast produced by Catch the Spirit of Appalachia and archived at Western Carolina University.

Storytelling:  Amy talks about drinking “Cool, Clear Water” in her youth from her grandparent’s and her own family’s springs.  Music: "Cool, Clear Water" by Gary Clawson.

Creative Corner:
  Doreyl's guest is Susan Lingg from Caney Fork, a local visual artist who paints the mountains.  Music: “Thank You for Your Blessings” by the Cockman Family.


Stories of Mountain Folk:  Amy's guest is Rose Beck from Cherokee, who tells about growing up in Cullowhee.  Music:  "The Old Wood-Burning Stove" by Home Delivery.

Apple Butter:  Nicole’s guest is Shenna Kohlmeyer, who gives details about illustrating a children’s book.   Music: "This Little Light of Mine" by a young Mountain Faith from Sylva.

Down Another Road:  Judy's guest is once again storyteller Ted White, who shares stories about  Thomas Wolfe from Asheville.   Music"Moose"  by Banjo Mania.

Closing song:  "Old Slewfoot" by the McDowell Family from Canton
