August 20th at 11:00 AM at City Lights Bookstore, 3 E. Jackson St. in Sylva NC - Special Story Time with Sara Doolittle Sara Doolittle, a current resident of Franklin, will be joining us for story time at City Lights! She will be reading from her first picture book, Lillie's Smile, which was inspired by memories of her maternal grandmother. It was written in hope of preserving Lillie's story and her heritage.
The watercolor illustrations by Margo Locke beautifully capture Lillie's sweet spirit and her appreciation of family while growing up in the Appalachian Mountains. Sara Doolittle was born and raised in Western North Carolina and graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.
