Gardening for Wildlife Series

August 22, 6 PM to 8 PM at the Rickman Store. The Gardening for Wildlife Series continues with "Roll Out The Barrel, We'll Have A Barrel Of Fun!" Doug Johnson of Macon County Soil and Water Conservation District will explain how to construct a rain garden (stormwater wetland) and potential financial assistance to homeowners and businesses. Debbie and Frank Leslie will then demonstrate how to make a simple rain barrel from a plastic garbage can. Bring your own if you wish to make one on the spot. The Little Tennessee Land Trust
A land trust is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with private landowners to help protect the natural or historic character of their property. By working closely with the landowner, a land trust can offer insight and expertise on planning for future usage of the property to help insure that it remains a part of the family’s heritage.
