December 21, Highest elevation in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Mount LeConte. The winter caretaker at Mt. LeConte Lodge, Doug McFalls, reported 20 inches of snow with drifts up to three feet. The Mount Leconte Lodge can be reached by 5 trails and offers overnight stays with meals and some of the most beautiful views in the Park.
