And an important tradition is the reading of the “Declaration of Independence." During the day’s festivities we take time to reflect on the incredible document created in 1776 that has made so much possible in our wonderful nation.

Special Olympics Fundraiser and Fun for the 4th!!! There will be a dunking booth and a "pie in your face" booth in the parking lot across from Water Oak Suites on East Main Street. In the parking lot at 218 South Broad Street there will be a "smash and crash" auto to demolish for a donation.These will take place from 9-5. All proceeds go to the local Special Olympics team.To volunteer to asssit please contact Janelle Wilson, 553-4436/862-5428
Brevard Little Theatre's American Legion Hall - High Noon in Gloom TownThere will be three performances that will begin at 12:00 noon, again at 2:00 p.m. with the last showing at 4:00 p.m. All performances are Free to the public! This Ole-Time Melodrama honors virtue, "truth, justice and the American Way!" Get in on the fun and out of the sun! Come Boo, Hiss and Cheer, eat some popcorn and enjoy something cool to drink!
During the day, downtown streets are closed to an overflowing crowd. This year, the Transylvania Community Arts Council hosts its 37th Annual Fine Arts & Craft Showcase.
Our Classic Automobile Show stretches for blocks and delights even the casual aficionado of 1920s to 1970s vintage vehicles. Organized by the Transylvania Cruisers, entertainers like Elvis and the Blues Brothers have been known to show up and croon while you swoon over these classic beauties.
Our Courthouse Gazebo is center stage for day-long musical entertainment.
Other activities for children include Par-T-Perfect’s Kid Zone of Inflatables, face painting, Little Blue Choo, and balloon artist!
5K/10K Firecracker Run, organized by the Brevard Rotary Club.
