Spring Greetings!

Warm hello to all of our supporters and fans! Though its been rather chilly here on the farm in VA lately, we are glad to see the grass is growing and the sun is shining! Time for spring cleaning projects, fence line repair/spraying, and a lot of shaggy winter hair to be brushed off, trash days and Keisha (Husky available 4 Adoption) was glad to observe and approve of the happenings here at RCAR!

    

Just this week we shipped off 6 dogs whose lives were saved at the last minute by Partners!Canines  Those 6 came to RCAR for their quarantine and treatments (vaccines, deworming etc) before they left this week on transport for new adoptive homes! YAY!   We LOVE networking with other people to SAVE LIVES!

     

 Mother/Daughter Rescue

Just this Sunday, RCAR went on a trip down to Caldwell County on a Plea to save a couple of horses in need - we need you to help this Mother/Daughter pair on their road to recovery. RCAR was contacted by a senior lady who has owned this pair for the past 20 years. This winter she became sick and has barely been able to leave her bedside unassisted and had someone lined up to care for her horses. She ventured out of the house and down to the barn this weekend and found they were in desperate need, contacted us and pleaded for help - We went down immediately and brought these two ole' gals home!

Kate is a 28 y/o, Appaloosa mare that is suffering from a major strongyles parasite infestation as well as needing some good nutrition and farrier care but is otherwise happy and alert. Her 21 y/o daughter, Sparky (a Morgan cross) is in worse condition. Sparky has previously been foundered and needs some corrective farrier care as well as some good nutrition.  

     

  

Their Immediate Needs: $160/each$75/each - Panacure PowerPac (deworming)$35/each - Farrier Care $25/each - Coggins$25/each - Updated Vaccines

Their Monthly Needs:  $124/month
$29/each - Omegatin Supplement (helps them gain weight)
$57/each - Senior Feed
$38/each - Hay (when not grazing)

Possible Other Needs:  $50-75 Each
$50-75/each - Bloodwork

We are asking for your support to offer these girls the rehab they need so they will be able to go into foster and/or adoptive care.
Sparky has never been away fromher mom Kate, these are a bonded pair - we will strive to keep them together!  Please DONATE!
