Mountain Spirits: Wine and Beer this week

July 1 - 2 Callaboose Cellars Winery, 565 Aquone Road, Andrews NC - tasting room will be open  noon to 5 PM. Visit the smallest free-standing, complete winery in America and sample their latest release, Norton, Norton grapes from two vineyards in Cherokee County were detained at the Calaboose and bulked up into our biggest, fully-loaded gorilla of a wine. This dark and shady red stands up to steaks, smoked meats, and pasta dishes.

July 1 Table Wine, 1550 Hendersonville Road, Suite 102Fugazy Cente, Asheville NC - Fourth of July Winedown Today at Table Wine - 4 to 7 PM and it's FREE. Table Wine wants to make sure that you're properly prepared for your Fourth of July Celebrations, so we're offering a free wine tasting in honor of America gaining her indepedence from the British.  Richard McKinney of Tryon Distributing will be in house to pour six classic favorites from California.  As always, we'll provide a nice little spread of palate cleansers, but we welcome folks to bring in their own culinary concoctions. Saturday, July 2 hLocal Organic Vegetables from 2:00 to 3:30 and we'll have our free wine tasting going at the same time.........win-win with wine and veggies!

July 6  
The Classic Wineseller, 20 Church Street, Waynesville NC -  WOW ( Wine on Wednesday), a wine tasting featuring the wines of Chianti Region in Italy. Taste five wines and hors d'oeuvres from 5:30 Pm - 7:30 PM, $8 per person. The Wineseller features over 1100 wine selections within 12,000 bottles plus an extensive selection of beers, champagnes, and ports. The Wineseller also includes a humidor cigar room and cozy wine tasting bar.
