The Parks are OPEN - Head for the Hills and Enjoy the Beautiful Fall Leaf Color!

They're baaack...The National Parks, that is. Although one could not say the insanity in Washington is over, at least the government shut-down is (for now) and our NC National Parks and their facilities have re-opened. Estimated losses in NC and Tennessee are in excess of 33 million dollars with The Great Smoky Mountains Park being one of the biggest losers in the country among popular attractions.

So NOW is the time to come to the NC Mountains and visit the National Parks. The fall leaf color will be peaking in most areas over the next 10 -15 days and there is still availability in cabins, vacation rentals, hotels and B&Bs.

Find a list and links for North Carolina Parks HERE.
