Come to historic downtown West Jefferson and enjoy
the Festival of Trees at the Ashe Arts Center, participate in the handmade and
home-grown Holiday Market at the Farmer's Market and stroll the streets and
galleries of the historic downtown area, all dressed up for the Christmas
season. To kick the holiday season off right, the lighting of the Community
Christmas Tree is on November 23 when Santa and friends arrive in a an
old-fashioned fire engine and hand out treats to all the children.

Main Street is closed to traffic so you can walk leisurely down the street and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and fresh baked cookies as you wait for the for the lighting of the Town Christmas tree located in front of the United Methodist Church. Santa and all his helpers will be there to meet with kids to hear their wish list.
