The icy, frigid weather earlier this month downed many, many trees in the mountains, and long stretches of the MST (Mountain to Sea Trail) are blocked. Our volunteer trail crews will need lots of help opening the trails again for hiking. If you'd like to volunteer, contact Don Walton in the Asheville area, John Lanman in the Boone area, and Jim Hallsey in the Jefferson/Wilkesboro area.

Mountain Trails Crews Need Help
The icy, frigid weather earlier this month downed many, many trees in the mountains, and long stretches of the MST (Mountain to Sea Trail) are blocked.
